Functional Fitness For Middle Age and Up

We are all Athlete’s, no matter if we our sport days are over.  As age creeps up, little things like — going up the stairs with a full load of laundry, running after your children or grandchildren, mowing the lawn and shoveling isn’t as easy as it used to be, but they are all still doable…Movement and Mobility is the key at Sara’s! The saying “If we don’t move it…we lose it is TRUE.

Sara’s Health & Fitness specializes in “Functional Fitness,” with the goal of making everyday tasks easier and re- learning to do things that have been put aside because we thought we were “too old” to do them again. Being able to walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded or lifting a gallon of water without wrenching your shoulder, playing those sports again is all “Functional fitness.”

No need to feel intimidated by the “no pain, no gain” here.  We are NOT a “hardcore gym” and you will NOT have that feeling of “I’m going to be burnt out after the first time and be discouraged.”

Sara and her team of experienced individuals will go over your health and medical history and any personal goals to insure that everyone is on the same page. “They spent a lot of time with me. They had me do certain exercises and would ask how it felt. I also learned to how feel the movement of the exercise and how to make sure I was doing it correctly,” said one of Sara’s members. “It even continues still today when I’m in classes. The instructors will come around and say, ‘Now, here’s where you should be feeling it. You may need to adjust.”

We welcome questions like; “‘What is your education?’ … ‘What is your certification?’ ‘What kind of experience do you have?’ ‘Have you worked with somebody like me?’ ” It’s important that our members know our educational backgrounds as Z-Health Movement Practitioners and certified instructors we have at Sara’s.
